Over-the-top amphibian shooter AK-xolotl is getting a free update today for players on PS5 and PS4, adding the essential local co-op update. We've come to expect this as traditional for indies featuring aggressive animals, following in Cult of the Lamb's footsteps, and certainly can't complain.
It features all-new enemies, weapons, systems, bosses, environments, and of course, co-op play. If you missed this one previously, its a good bit of fast and frenetic fun. A top-down roguelike shooter in the tradition of Enter the Gungeon, an arsenal of ridiculous weaponry keeps the fun unpredictable and fresh. In theory, that should go doubly so with twice as many players.

The Binding of Isaac is my go-to for a quick rougelike fix. This does seem like it has a much smoother co-op experience though. But since I bounced off Enter the Gungeon after just a few hours this probably isn't for me.
@LuXifer I bounced off of Enter the Gungeon too the first time, but the second time I tried it, it sucked me in for over 100 hours, fantastic game that one.
This seems very similar, but with a fresh coat of paint (and maybe a little less difficult?). I'll put it on my wish list
@Bramble Yeah, I've heard nothing but praise from everyone who's given it a good college try. Sadly bullet-hell games just don't mesh with me. Which is sad 'cause there are a ton of great games in that category.
